Biography

Jackie Chan was born on April 7th, 1954, in Hong Kong, China. His parents worked for French Ambassadors in Hong Kong, while Chan was trained to do martial arts in the China Drama Academy. Jackie Chan first started acting at the age of 7 age of 5, where he played in small parts and when he was 17, Jackie Chan worked as a stuntman in a two Bruce Lee films called Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury.


Jackie Chan's career started to go up when he did stuntwork in a film called Snake in the Eagle's Shadow where he showed his humorous Kung Fu style and had interested the Chinese audience. The film Drunken Master, is where Chan started to propell his career into the mainstream media. Willie Chan became Jackie's personal manager and firm friend, and remained so for over 30 years. He was instrumental in launching Chan's international career, beginning with his first forays into the American film industry in the 1980s. His first hollywood film was called The CannonBall Run, and although he didn't impress any famous American Actor, Chan was still proud of the outtakes in the credits, which he would continue to do in future films.


Jackie Chan's Fame started to grow when he did a film called Rumble in the Bronx, which had earned him recognition for being a Hong Kong movie star. Chan's first huge blockbuster success came when he co-starred with Chris Tucker in the 1998 buddy cop action comedy Rush Hour, grossing US$130 million in the United States alone. This movie had made Chan a Hollywood superstar and with the years to come, he continued to show improvement by collaborating with more Famous actors from Hollywood.
